Slyide Has a Blast on the Blown-Out Remix of Neffex’s Light It Up

By: Get News

Always willing to find the lighter side of things, Slyide brings a freewheeling, fun approach to his remix of Neffex’s “Light It Up.” The wild trip goes right for the jugular, for he brings elements of hard rock, party music, hip-hop, and more into this singular approach. Volume is a given because this needs to be played as loudly as humanly possible. It is pretty physical, and it crashes upon the listener. Hits of percussion and beat blasts further ensure that the song lets nothing up.

From the first moment, the attitude takes hold, one that has a defiance about it. The many layers intermingle as there is this sense of celebration to it. Indeed, the remix lives up to the title, for it simply burns everything down. An intensity lets loose for the piece has these heavy riffs, which themselves feel taken from the Beastie Boys’ early 90s output. Again, lyricism does an excellent job of accentuating the sheer giddiness of what takes shape. To Slyide’s credit, he ensures that the right moments are given that perfect punctuation of percussion, as the entire thing seemingly cascades until it becomes a virtual force of nature.

The sort of remix that shows the transformative power of Slyide’s wry humor, “Light It Up,” accentuates the already gleeful energy of Neffex.
