From Rage To Resolution: Conquering Conflict by Deanne Rosenberg

From Rage To Resolution: Conquering Conflict by Deanne Rosenberg

Is it possible that one single book could turn down the level of hostility and anger running rampant in our society today?  Yes, there is!  That book is “From Rage to Resolution”. It is  written by DeAnne Rosenberg who has been working with people functioning in stressful situations for over 35 years.  This is not a philosophical book although there is some philosophy in it. It is a practical step-by-step guide for managing both your own anger and the anger of others, especially when that anger is directed at you. It is a book that will change your life by eliminating the hostility and baggage you carry with you from interaction to interaction.

We are not in control of our lives.  Negative occurrences, about which we can do almost nothing, happen all around us.  We live in a constant state of stress and agitation over: our jobs, our children (who are learning things we prefer they didn't know about), random gun violence, costs of food, fuel and energy which only increase, taxes, a pandemic that never seems to end, traffic, noise, terrorism, politics, and a government that doesn't listen to us.  The stress never lets up.  The result is that we are angry most of the time.  We try our best to hold our anger in check so it does not impact those around us.  However, the truth is: Every human being has only a limited amount of psychological space available for holding anger inside and so, many of us are about ten seconds away from going ballistic (rage).

Unfortunately, when we were very young the conventional practice was to teach us that to be angry or show anger is a terrible thing.  (A normal and reasonable person never exhibits anger.)  As a result, we grow up without a skill set that allows us to to deal with our  own rage and we do not understand how to cope with the rage of others, especially when that anger is directed at us.

To deny someone the right to feel and express their righteous hostility by pretending it should not exist is to deny an emotion that is a normal part of being human. What is needed is a strategy that legitimizes anger and assists a person in making a purposeful decision about how to deal with it.  Anger is not some unmanageable, alien emotion about which we can do nothing.  It is as much a part of us as is an arm or a leg. As such, it can be controlled and calibrated. This amazing book will teach you how to do that.
