RadioMobile Announces ONE CALIFORNIA Program for California Fire Agencies

By: PRLog

Program unites fire agencies under a common technology umbrella; empowers mutual aid, interoperability, situational awareness, and accountability

SAN DIEGO - Aug. 24, 2022 - PRLog -- RadioMobile, Inc., a provider of mobile data communications technology to Fire and EMS, announced ONE CALIFORNIA, a program designed to unite fire agencies across California under a common operating picture (COP) in order to empower mutual aid, interoperability, situational awareness and accountability. The program leverages deployments in firefighting technology by agencies throughout California to improve firefighter safety while saving more lives and property.

"ONE CALIFORNIA helps multiple agencies gain visibility and share incident information in real time so they can better coordinate activities," says Jim Moore, CEO of RadioMobile.  "This is especially important in light of the growing threat of wildfires in California and in particular, the ever-increasing wildland urban interface (WUI)."

Under ONE CALIFORNIA, participating agencies can exchange mobile unit and fire incident information via a distributed data platform already in use by some of the largest fire departments in California including Los Angeles County Fire and CAL FIRE. Upon obtaining  a data-sharing agreement to join the ONE CALIFORNIA network, contracted or designated cooperating agencies downloading the IQ Mobile App to a mobile data computer (MDC) or tablet and linking to RadioMobile's IQ Flex cloud-hosted server via a cellular network. Non-contracted or designated cooperating agencies including county and municipal fire departments, as well as fire protection districts can participate, after obtaining a data-sharing agreement from the member agencies, by working with RadioMobile to integrate their dispatch environment and share two-way AVL data and status messaging into the COP ecosystem. ONE CALIFORNIA supports the sharing of AVL information from other solution providers as well.

"The ultimate goal of ONE CALIFORNIA is to improve the effectiveness of emergency response for all California residents," says Moore.  "Giving all responding agencies access to the same timely and accurate data, helps achieve that goal."

Currently, over 2,500 units are connected to the ONE CALIFORNIA network and can be joined by new resources while en route to an incident by downloading the application. Agencies pay a nominal start-up fee plus a monthly subscription fee based on the number of vehicles deployed.
