Omaha, Nebraska Jul 22, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Local family impacted by an aggressive brain cancer diagnosis receives community support.

In December 2020, Tyler and Bree Bain were six months into a difficult pregnancy when they received news that Tyler's brain cancer had returned. Diagnosed with a reoccurrence of a Glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive brain tumor, Tyler began chemotherapy treatments immediately. In March of 2021, the couple welcomed their first child, Brooklyn Bain.

Over the next 17 months, Tyler explored various treatment options to extend life expectancy and provide quality of life. In the Spring of 2022 after a near fatal fall from a ladder, he was diagnosed with two brain bleeds, as well as a significant clot in his brain that limits his blood from draining. While he continues to fight, Tyler has experienced a loss of vision, extreme headaches, difficulty with balance, confusion & memory loss. The significance of his symptoms has required that he take time off work to heal and rest.

Upon learning of the news, the local community & businesses of Omaha, Nebraska has rallied around the young couple and their 15-month-old daughter to support them during this hardship. The following organizations have been identified as supporting the family:

Vance Thompson Vision & Omaha Primary Eye Care: Eliminated medical debt for the family so that financial resources could be better used for his treatment and ongoing care.

Sprouting Minds: Provided free & discounted daycare for their daughter during their hardship.

Local Community: Through a GoFundMe page, the community raised just shy of $10,000 in 24 hours for the family. These funds will be used to get in-home medical care for Tyler.

"What keeps us going is all the support we've received," said Bree Bain, wife of Tyler Bain, "We could not do this without the love and support from family, friends and our community. It has been a very humbling experience and we are so grateful for everyone that has helped our family."

If you are interested in learning more about their journey, or would like to support, please reach out to the fundraising team on their GoFundMe page.
