Junk Platoon, an Edmond junk removal company that focuses on hiring veterans in order to reduce veteran unemployment is proud to announce they have joined the Northwest Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce in order to directly reach out to businesses and consumers in Nichols Hills, Bethany and The Village.
The company began operations in July 2020 and has decided to join the chamber to avail itself of the marketing and networking opportunities it offers. The company is proud to be a part of the Oklahoma City metro community and wants to show that pride to every client or potential client they come into contact with.
Junk Platoon is the only junk removal company in the Oklahoma City area that focuses on hiring veterans whenever possible. The company is locally owned and operated by Todd Temaat, a 21-year Air Force veteran that served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. When asked why he started the company, Mr. Temaat said, “After I started my first post-military job, I discovered that no one around me had served. They were all great folks, but there is a camaraderie and desire to serve in nearly every military member I have ever met and that was lacking in most of the people I worked with. I wanted to start a company where others like me would fit in and could land softly as they transition from the service into civilian life and employment.”
According to Temaat, “Our goal is to make every customer a customer for life. We strive to treat you like we would treat our own family. Our company’s core values are to honor God in all we do, delight (not just satisfy) our clients, and to attack veteran unemployment and suicide by hiring vets and investing 10% of our profits into Biblical entrepreneurship and PTSD counseling resources.”
