CD Bioparticles Launches New Polystyrene Latex Beads to Accelerate Bioresearch

By: Get News
CD Bioparticles now launches a series of polystyrene latex beads that can be applied for a variety of research applications.

New York, USA – November 29, 2021 – With years of experience in the pharmaceutical and life science sector, CD Bioparticles now launches a series of polystyrene latex beads that can be applied for a variety of research applications such as lateral flow tests, confocal microscopy, cytological studies, biosensors, and microfluidics.

Polystyrene particles are prepared by using emulsion and emulsion-free polymerization process. Coated or conjugated particles are prepared either by passive adsorption or covalent coupling. Functionalized polystyrene nanoparticles and polystyrene particles can be applied for a variety of applications such as drug delivery materials, bioimaging, markers and immunoassay. With superior stability, high binding capacity and ultra-high specificity (low background), polystyrene latex particles have been extensively validated in immunoturbidimetric assays at both academic and industrial scales.

Polystyrene particles present a flexible platform for applications in diagnostics and bio separations. There are several methods of attaching biological ligands to polystyrene particles. These methods include adsorption to plain polystyrene particles, covalent attachment to surface functionalized particles, and attachment of the ligand of interest to particles that are pre-coated with a binding protein such as Streptavidin, Protein A or Protein G. Polystyrene Particles have been found to have numerous applications in scientific research, diagnostics, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and nanotechnology, such as purification and separation, and solid phase immunoassays.

CD Bioparticles now offers Colored Polystyrene Particles and Fluorescent Polystyrene Particles for researchers. Colored polystyrene particles are often used in lateral flow detection and latex agglutination tests. They are also frequently used as markers to label biomolecules. Carboxylated color-dyed polystyrene particles allow for the covalent coupling of antibodies or antigens. Anti-Escherichia coli Abs conjugated polystyrene particles (latex beads) can be utilized in agglutination assays and are often used in tandem with other bacteria identification assays to confirm the presence of specific bacteria in a sample.

Specially, various colored polystyrene particles are ready for online purchase at CD Bioparticles, such as the DiagPoly™ Blue Coloured, Amine Polystyrene Particles, 0.1 µm (# DDAB-V001), which are blue dyed polystyrene particles functionalized with amine for qualitative and quantitative detection. The particles are suitable for lateral flow tests and latex agglutination tests. The density of liquid suspension is 1.05 g/mL.

Fluorescent polystyrene particles are also available at CD Bioparticles, which are frequently used in imaging and diagnostic applications for the detection of binding events or signal enhancement. They can also be used for fluid tracing, fluid mechanics studies, cell tracking, phagocytosis studies, latex agglutination tests, fluorescence microscopy, and drug discovery research.

CD Bioparticles provides a large selection of monodisperse polymer nanoparticles and microspheres with multiple sizes from 20 nm to 100 µm. For more detailed information about polystyrene latex beads or to discuss your project, please visit CD Bioparticles at https://www.cd-bioparticles.com.
