In 2001, Jeff Portman became president and COO of Merchandise Mart, which in 1996 had been rebranded AmericasMart Atlanta. In 2014, Portman was named chairman and chief executive officer of AMC Inc., the parent company of AmericasMart, which today encompasses three buildings and more than 7 million square feet of wholesale exhibit space in downtown Atlanta.
