First Pryority Bank Promotes Director Aaron Dillard to Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board

First Pryority Bank’s board of directors has elected President Aaron Dillard both chairman of the board and chief executive officer.

September 20, 2021 / /

First Pryority bank has announced that director Aaron Dillard will become both its chief executive officer and chairman of the board from September 2021. Aaron formerly held other senior positions at the firm, including president, senior vice president, and member of the board of directors.

“Effective today, I am CEO and Chairman of the Board of First Pryority Bank”, Aaron posted in a statement via his LinkedIn account. “Three years ago when they voted me in as President, it was a split vote by the Board of Directors. At the last board meeting, it was a unanimous yes vote to make me CEO and Chair,” he continued.

Aaron has worked in the finance sector for more than twenty years. In that time, he has held senior positions at both First Pryority and other financial institutions. In August 2016, he became chairman of the board of directors at both Bank of Locust Grove and Lakeside Bank of Salina - two community banks operating close by. He was also a vice president at Patriot Bank Tulsa between 2010 and 2012, and an assistant vice president at Citizens Bank of Oklahoma between 2005 and 2010.

During his tenure with First Pryority Bank, Aaron led the company to the 2016 Rising Star Lender award from the SBA. A year later, he became The Journal Record’s 2017 Achievers Under 40 Honoree.

However, Aaron has wider experience than pure finance. He is also the founder and owner of Storehouse Residential - a residential rental company he began in 2009 to provide members of the community rental homes at affordable prices. Tenants can use the firm to rent properties across Oklahoma.

Experience owning, operating and running this firm gave Aaron the deep knowledge and long-time experience of the real estate market he has today. He has invested in residential, commercial and multi-family properties in Tulsa, Bixby, Broken Arrow.

Aaron’s path to success began many years ago with his education. He studied Accounting and Finance at Oklahoma State University between 2000 and 2004 and then went on to receive multiple professional qualifications in basic banking, consumer lending, and commercial lending from Oklahoma Bankers Association. Later, in 2019, Aaron became a banking graduate of the SW Graduate School of Banking, one of the financial services industry’s best sources for training, education and information.

First Pryority began in Pryor, Oklahoma, in 1900 as a home-grown community bank. In 2002, it opened a second location in Bixby in the Tulsa area. The company offers a suite of online and mobile banking tools designed to help customers handle all their personal and business banking needs. Clients of the bank can easily transfer funds, deposit money wherever they are and top up with mobile.

In the future, under Aaron’s leadership, First Pryority Bank plans to work with and incorporate fintech startups. The hope is that the move will allow the institution to offer both traditional face-to-face personal community banking services as well as options for emerging digital communities with shared financial goals. Aaron believes that progressive financial technology will allow First Pryority to extend its operations to encompass more applications, products, business processes and models.

In his personal time, Aaron is a proud husband and father to three children. He is a Christian and reads regularly, enhancing his already-impressive array of skills. Aaron credit’s his recent success over the last three years to his faith. “With God’s help over the last three years, I won over the naysayers to prove that I am capable of leading the bank”, he says. Now he is looking forward to leading his team into the future, building on the community bank’s current high level of success.
