NEW HOPE, Minn. - August 23, 2021 - (Newswire.com)

Theresa Durham, a resilient and hardworking woman who spent her youth working in hotels and restaurants, a devout follower of God, a mother of two fine men, and a grandmother to two amazing grandkids, has completed her new book, "The Valley of Baca": a detailed account of the author's experience, prayers, and ponderings in this pilgrimage journey of hers. Baca came from the Hebrew word that translates to cry or weep; thus, this book is a compilation of the sufferings, downfalls, and painful situations in the life of the author. With the aspiration to help and inspire other people, she has decided to finally jot down her journey into this book.

Durham writes, "This book is the result of dreams and parables that the Lord started giving me when I rededicated my life to him at age 23. I call these stories jewels that I collected along the way of my pilgrimage. Most of them I collected in the valleys of my life. The stories deal with many different issues such as sinful nature, grace versus legalism, post-traumatic stress, codependency relationships, and more.

"It wasn't until I was 40 years old that my mother advised me to write the stories down. She said that even if I didn't do anything with them, I had to write them down so I wouldn't forget them. I did attend one formal English class in a community college in 2007. Outside of that, I have had no formal training in writing.

"In 2017, when I decided to put the stories into a book, I told my brother I had to go to school to learn how to write. His response was that college can only teach you the mechanics of writing but that it cannot give you the inspiration. With that advice, I wrote this book, along with my brother Tom, who helped me with the mechanics of writing.

"These stories have encouraged me, brought me hope, inspired me, and helped me to continue on my path to Zion, and it's my hope that these stories will do the same for you."
