Essex Engineering announces the launch of their new e-commerce store.

Essex Engineering, a traditional professional manufacturing business based in Wanstead, recently announced the launch of their new e-commerce store. The company has been producing a range of niche products such as high-quality copper fire clips and saddles since 1948. Essex Engineering has been trading since 1935 (even during the Second World War) and is 100% family-owned with around 35 employees.

Currently, the company specialises in manufacturing copper cable clips and saddles and coin slide mechanisms. The company is well-known for its quality workmanship and ability to produce components to drawings that are then supplied to electricians and installation companies. The fire clips and saddles are used in a variety of environments such as London Underground tunnels, hospital operating rooms, nuclear reactors, emergency lighting and power systems, factories and many more.

The new e-commerce store will initially sell a range of fire-rated cable fixings including:

- MCCP p-clips for fixing single cable runs
- MCS saddles for double cable runs

These clips are suitable for fire alarms and similar installations. They also meet the extended requirements of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations which state that “Wiring systems shall be supported such that they will not be liable to premature collapse in the event of a fire”, clause 521.10.202. The range is made from copper BS1432 C101 and supplied as bare copper or with an Akzo-Nobel Interpon low smoke and fume powder coating in red, white, orange or black colour.

Since Essex Engineering manufactures these components, customers can take advantage of competitive prices since they’re buying directly from the source. Essex Engineering is currently selling its copper cable clips in quantities of 50, 100, and 1,000. Larger quantities are available on request. The company will likely bring other products to their store in the future.
