VSA Launches Widespread Strategies to Bolster the Talents of its Inside Sales Reps

Haddon Township, N.J. – South Jersey-based VSA Prospecting has launched a widespread initiative to elevate the overall quality of its business development representatives (BDRs), expanding its training and coaching, intensifying the hiring process, and offering a variety of incentives to retain and attract top talent.

VSA Prospecting is a lead generation firm with a national reach that specializes in setting sales appointments for clients with complex offerings—particularly those in the healthcare, education, manufacturing/logistics, and technology sectors. The changes in its BDR policies correspond with the company’s best-ever monthly average for new clients.

“We recognize that our BDRs are at the heart of what we do here at VSA. They’re essentially the voice of our clients,” says Valerie Schlitt, VSA’s owner and CEO. “By helping our BDRs feel more comfortable and confident in their jobs, we’re also helping our clients achieve their goals.”

Recent benefits extended to BDRs include an increased hourly pay rate across the board and a new vacation policy available to those who work a certain number of hours weekly. The company is also emphasizing opportunities for advancement; former BDRs who have recently stepped into new positions include Content Writer Andy Vineberg, Quality Analyst Alice Gallagher, and Reporting and Workforce Management Specialist Brooke Jacquez.

The improvements include the formation of a Quality and Training team that provides coaching and feedback on a weekly basis, regardless of tenure. The company has also extended the training period for new hires, ensuring that BDRs are as prepared as possible when it’s time to start making calls, and allowing more time to weed out unqualified candidates.

“It’s important for us to make sure we’re always elevating our workforce and recognizing individual skillsets to properly meet the needs of our clients,” says Michele Plunkett, VSA’s COO. “All of the recent changes are designed to both benefit our employees and provide our clients with the best service possible.”

VSA Prospecting was recently honored by the Philadelphia Business Journal as one of Greater Philadelphia’s “Best Places to Work.”
