In alignment with the theme for 2021, Presente: Latinos Leading the Way, the CHCI Leadership Conference will convene thousands of national thought leaders to experience an engaging virtual lineup of national leaders, elected officials, policymakers, and influencers recognized for their vision, expertise, and influence across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

Past speakers have included distinguished figures such as then-Vice President Joe Biden, President Barack Obama, Secretary Hillary Clinton and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. This year’s agenda will touch upon a wide range of today’s most critical issues for the Latino community, including:

-- Environmental justice

-- Latina leadership

-- Latino economic advancement

-- Racial and social equity

-- Healthcare after COVID-19

-- Education

-- Latino voices in media and entertainment

-- Immigration

The conference culminates with the 44th Annual Awards Gala on Thursday, September 23, a celebration that highlights CHCI’s work and serves to bestow the Medallion of Excellence, CHCI’s highest honor, to Latinos who have excelled with their contributions. Past recipients of the Medallion of Excellence include trailblazers such as Astronaut Dr. Ellen Ochoa, Chef José Andrés, Novelist Isabel Allende, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, among others. Past musical performers at the awards include Tito Nieves, Ruben Blades, and Paulina Rubio.
