According to Kreischer Miller’s 2016 Family Business survey, 62 percent of senior generation owners plan to transition out of their family business within the next 10 years. However, 65 percent do not have a clear retirement plan. Why is that? Some consistent reasons are that many owners are busy running their business and feel that planning for retirement will be too time-consuming.
