LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - May 6, 2016 - PRLog -- After what seemed like the longest four years of her life, Heather Wallace and Stuart Rubio collaborated to publish a book about grief that could make readers laugh.
"Four years ago I lost my Dad very suddenly. I was bombarded with books on grief, grieving and how to handle loss. Some of these books are the nicest books in the world, truly. But all I really wanted was a book that could make me laugh, that would make me feel less alone in my grief, and would make me stop feeling like I was crazy every single day. I couldn't find that book. So I decided to write that book."
The end result is Faith, Grief & Pass the Chocolate Pudding, a book some might compare to a manual on what not to do while grieving, or the idiot's guide to not losing your mind through loss. The self-proclaimed "Princess of Chocolate Pudding," Heather's brutally honest, humorous approach to dealing with grief and her ability to share the story of her journey through the loss of her father is refreshing and hilarious.
Heather Wallace is Director of Youth Ministry at Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, an active speaker and community educator at Faith & Grief events and is also co-author of Grief Diaries: Surviving Loss of a Parent. A native of the suburbs of Chicago, Heather attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and currently resides in Arkansas with her husband, five children, and one neurotic hound dog. She spends most of her time trying to prevent her home from becoming overrun by unmatched socks.
A diehard Nebraska Huskers fan, Stuart Rubio is originally from Omaha but spent the majority of his childhood in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. He attended the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and his Air Force career spans almost 18 years. Stu serves as commander of the 815th Airlift Squadron, a C-130J combat airlift unit stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi. In Faith, Grief & Pass the Chocolate Pudding, he shares the loss of his brother Jamie from a guy's perspective. He is married with three awesome boys and is also a successful triathlete. He considers himself slightly less weird than his friend, Heather.
