INDIANAPOLIS - Jan. 14, 2016 - PRLog -- The 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 has arrived and has already caught the imagination of Indianapolis and Speedway truck buyers. Available as a regular cab, double cab or crew cab model, with a 2WD or 4WD drivetrain, the Silverado 1500 offers three engine options, and all are available at Andy Mohr Speedway Chevrolet in Plainfield for test drive.
The base powerplant is a 4.3L EcoTec3 V6 engine rated at 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque that delivers an EPA-estimated highway fuel economy of up to 24 mpg. Drivers can also select a 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 motor that can produce 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque or a 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 option that makes 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of peak torque with a maximum towing ability of 12,000 pounds.
With 2WD available on the WT, LS, and LT trims, 4WD available on all trim levels, there are more than a dozen ways that drivers can configure their truck for optimum performance.
Some of the highlights of the 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 include:
• Advanced Technology: CornerStep rear bumpers, mobile 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity, standard audio system with color touchscreen display, optional Chevy MyLink with mobile apps like Pandora and Weather, optional navigation, and wireless charging.
• Safety: The Silverado 1500 features options like a rear vision camera, front and rear park assist, and OnStar Automatic Crash Response with emergency notification.
• Luxury Customization: The Optional High Country Edition also includes options like articulating running boards which move toward the front of the truck bed with the tab of your foot, as well as a leather-trimmed interior with embroidered head restraints.
