Mustang Outsells Muscle Car Competitors

By: PRLog
2015 Mustang sales are set to hit six figures for the first time since 2007, leaving the Challenger and Camaro in Ford's wake.
PRLog - July 14, 2015 - BURNS HARBOR, Ind. -- Lake Shore Ford is proud to announce that sales have been booming on the 2015 Ford Mustang among Chesterton, Portage, and Valparaiso drivers. It only took four months on the market for the Mustang to eclipse sales from some of its top competitors, including the Dodge Challenger and Chevy Camaro, and by the end of April of this year, Ford's famous pony car had already hit half of its sales numbers from 2014 at 42,955.

As of June, 2015, 68,290 Mustangs have been sold, putting Ford on target for breaking six-figure sales in 2015 for the first time since 2007.

Ford officially responded to the sales surge, saying, “Year-to-date, Mustang sales are up 55%, with a 116% increase in southern California, America’s largest sports car market. The 2.3L EcoBoost engine is now that market’s best-selling Mustang engine.” The EcoBoost engine is brand new for the 2015 model year, giving drivers a fuel-efficient Mustang that doesn't compromise on power (it's rated at 310 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque yet earns 31 highway mpg).

Drivers seeking more classic, naturally aspirated engines can find a standard 3.7L V6 with 300 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, earning 28 highway mpg as well as the Mustang GT's 5.0L V8 with 435 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque.

The key to the Mustang's success over the Camaro and the Challenger is a simple one: it appeals to all generations. The new turbocharged engine and modern styling makes the pony car a hit with the Millennials while Baby Boomers and Generation X can enjoy some of the old muscle car flair that comes with a traditional V6 or V8 engine and some of the design throwbacks to the Mustangs of old.

Readers can learn more about the 2015 Ford Mustang, its available engines and trim levels, and take a test drive at Lake Shore Ford, located at 244 Melton Rd in Burns Harbor, IN. Contact Lake Shore Ford online or by phone at (877) 834-5956 to schedule a test drive of a new Mustang.
