The 2015 Honda CR-V Wins the Cars.com/USA Today/“Motor Week” Compact SUV Challenge

By: PRLog
The CR-V took the crown thanks to its practical features, family-centered design, and enjoyable driving experience.
PRLog - June 10, 2015 - HIGHLAND, Ind. -- At the Cars.com/USA Today/“Motor Week” Compact SUV Challenge, the 2015 Honda CR-V was named the victor by a panel made up of customers and industry experts. Beating out six other vehicles in the competition, Honda's SUV proved itself a worthy investment.

Even in the extremely competitive SUV segment, the Honda CR-V has been proving itself year after year. The most recent additions to the Honda CR-V were deliberate on the part of the design division to make it more competitive in an ever-changing world. General manager and senior vice president Jeff Conrad, who spoke on behalf of Honda after the competition had ended, explained that the team worked hard not to assume that past success guaranteed ongoing success, and that competitions like these help push Honda forward. The CR-V has been America’s most popular SUV during the last decade, and with this year’s addition on the heels of a head-to-head victory, it shows.

The 2015 Honda CR-V was chosen for first place because of its strong traits in several categories, receiving high marks for offering a fun driving experience on top of extensive storage space. It was also lauded for the easy folding seats to expand cargo room, a lower floor loading height for convenient packing, and rear air vents for added comfort. All told, the Honda CR-V demonstrated that it could be versatile and convenient, and that it excelled at everything from family shuttling to running quick errands.

The challenge compared seven of the most popular compact SUVs against each other, provided they each earned an EPA-estimated 26 mpg combined, and cost under $28,000. The CR-V fell squarely within the boundaries with an efficient 4-cylinder engine and an MSRP of $27,675. Customers look for a versatile vehicle that can provide utility for a value, and the Honda CR-V certainly fits the bill.
