Southeast Toyota Finance Associates Volunteer at the Keep Mobile Beautiful Cleanup

By: PRLog
PRLog - Aug 29, 2013 - MOBILE, Ala. -- Improving the environment was on the minds of Southeast Toyota Finance  associates as they participated in a recent Keep Mobile Beautiful cleanup at Medal of Honor Park. Volunteers worked to remove 200 pounds of trash and debris from the park fields and playgrounds.

Keep Mobile Beautiful is the City of Mobile’s initiative aimed at motivating residents to take greater responsibility for the improvement of their community surroundings through environmental awareness and projects.

“Promoting a healthier environment is an important part of our corporate philosophy and business practices,” said Rod Arends, Vice President of Service Center Operations for Southeast Toyota Finance. “Our associates are committed to making a positive impact in our community today to ensure a better place for all of us tomorrow.”

Southeast Toyota Finance started its relationship with Keep Mobile Beautiful in 2010, contributing 125 hours in nine cleanups at various public locations throughout Mobile. The company and its associates have also donated $1,000 to the nonprofit annually since 2011.

“Every year, hundreds of volunteers join forces to beautify our neighborhoods, conduct recycling events and clean neglected areas through litter collection events,” said Bob Haskins, Director at Keep Mobile Beautiful. “Our success depends on partnerships with organizations like Southeast Toyota Finance, and we are grateful to the organization and its associates.”

Since 1986, Keep Mobile Beautiful has been a local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, a national nonprofit network that builds vibrant communities across the country. The goal of the neighborhood campaign is to enhance the quality of life for Mobile residents through beautification, recycling and litter prevention projects and programs. The association is governed by a 28 member commission comprised of business leaders, professionals and community volunteers.
