Controversial New Book Shares How to “Hack” Your Way to Health

By: PRLog
Author, marketing consultant and real estate professional Mike Carraway has published his latest book, 27 Food Hacks. In the book, he shares his own personal journey towards a happier, healthier lifestyle and reveals surprising facts that contradict popular belief.

PR Log - Mar 31, 2013 - Mike Carraway was where most people wanted to be. He had a highly successful business, was in demand as a marketing consultant, and had published several books. At 46 years old, many thought he had it made. However, when his doctor informed him that he was overweight and would be on 3 medications the rest of his life, Carraway decided his life had to change.

Five months later, Carraway had lost 14 pounds and was completely off the drugs prescribed because his cholesterol and blood pressure were within normal levels for the first time in years. Two years later, he has not had to return to the medications and he has even quit smoking. He attributes these results to making one small, barely noticeable change at a time – and not ever going on a diet.

“Living clean and being healthy and fit all go hand in hand. It's hard to just do one part – your body will help you on this, “ says Carraway.

Determined to improve the quality of his life, and not merely to lose weigh, Carraway researched intensely during his two year journey. He analyzed medical research into health and nutrition, then incorporated the beneficial results into his daily routine.

Some of the facts uncovered by research contradict popular belief and by revealing these facts in 27 Food Hacks, there has already been some controversy. Two claims, in particular, are widely disputed in the billion dollar diet industry. Carraway eschews the idea of avoiding fats and says the food pyramid popularized by the government is wrong.

Carraway acknowledges that some of his discoveries won't sit well with the diet industry, but also points out that it is an industry. As he says, “if word gets out that people don't really have to be on a diet, what would it do to that industry?”
