ONTARIO, Calif. - Sept. 30, 2021 - PRLog -- Southland Symphony is BACK!
We officially begin our 2021-22 Season with an exciting concert on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 4pm at Historic Bethel Congregational Church in Ontario, California. Please join us!
In honor of Indigenous Peoples Day, the concert features exciting musical selections, performed by a FULL Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of our Music Director and Conductor, Sr. Sylvia Lee Mann.
- "México Lindo-Part II" (Concierto para Arpa y Orquesta de Cuerdas) by Pablo Leñero Archer, featuring Ellie Choate, harp.
- "Tango: Por Una Cabeza" by Carlos Gardel
- "Florida: Land of Sun and Sea", by Gary Fry,- this pieces was originally commissioned by a Florida Orchestra, this piece features a Native American flute with a Seminole melody (documented tune by the Smithsonian). The piece also has elements of traditional Spanish Style, as well as Latin Jazz elements.
- "Danzón No. 2", by Arturo Márquez
- "New World Symphony", by Antonín Dvořák. Selections: movements 2 and 4

Should another wave of the virus warrant another "stay safe at home" directive, we are prepared to proceed with remote rehearsals and concerts! Nothing will stop the music. Music uplifts the soul, lightens the heart, and brings joy to both the performer and the listener.
Our staff and musicians are fully vaccinated.
At this time, for attendees, masks are optional for fully vaccinated individuals, required for unvaccinated individuals, and recommended for anyone who may be at risk. Social Distancing is requested and encouraged We hope to have enough room for everyone to spread out, and stay in your groups. We are, of course, keeping careful track of the latest reports and required protocols.
