Fiduciary Trust International Welcomes Matthew W. McKean as Wealth Director in Boca Raton Office

Industry Veteran Joins Firm to Propel Further Growth in South Florida

Fiduciary Trust International, a global wealth manager and wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton, announces that Matt McKean has joined the firm as a wealth director based in its Boca Raton office.

“Matt excels in wealth management, specializing in multi-generational tax advice and tailored financial strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families, as well as sophisticated investment solutions for foundations and endowments,” said Todd Stoller, regional managing director and senior portfolio manager for Fiduciary Trust International’s Palm Beach region. “He is an industry expert committed to excellence and is known for building trusting and long-lasting relationships to ensure that these strategies and advice are aligned with a client’s short-, medium- and long-term needs and objectives. We proudly welcome him and look forward to many years of collaborative growth to come as he begins his next chapter at Fiduciary Trust International.”

Mr. McKean most recently served as executive director at J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Las Olas, FL. In this position, he provided strategic guidance to families, individuals, and principals, overseeing the comprehensive management of their wealth. His responsibilities included advising on wealth-building, preservation, and management, as well as the implementation of intricate tax and estate plans for clients.

“In wealth management, every client relationship is built on trust – without which there is no relationship,” said Gene Todd, president and head of regional markets at Fiduciary Trust International. “Matt is a leader in the industry who has been earning that trust from clients day in and day out for more than two decades. We know his expertise in trust and estate planning strategies will bring tremendous momentum to our ongoing business growth in the greater South Florida area – which has experienced an influx of wealth and business relocation over the past decade, increasing demand for investment services that include legacy planning as part of one holistic offering.”

Earlier in his career, Mr. McKean served as director – trust and estate specialist/wealth restructuring group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he also served on the Advisory Council to Management (ACTM) board, which assists senior management in strategic planning for the firm. He first joined Merrill Lynch in 2002.

“I'm honored to join Fiduciary Trust International as we look to serve the growing influx of newcomers to South Florida,” said Mr. McKean. “With a diverse range of expertise, we can ensure trust, estate, legacy, and philanthropic goals are met with precision for high-net-worth families and foundations and endowments. Our team is dedicated to making sense of these clients’ complex financial lives, while also offering the seamless delivery of financial piece of mind. I’m excited to contribute to the firm’s standard of excellence in South Florida and across the country.”

Mr. McKean earned his BS in business administration from Villanova University. He also received the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) certificate from the Institute of Certified Bankers as well as the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) certificate from the American College.
