174 Power Global Awards Turkey Creek Solar Bright Future Scholarship to Pueblo Community College Students

Scholarship encourages careers in the growing solar energy industry and supports local students enrolled in Solar Technician Certificate Program

174 Power Global, through its subsidiary TC Colorado Solar, LLC, today announced it has awarded two $1,000 scholarships to Pueblo Community College (PCC) students enrolled in the Solar Photovoltaic Installation Certificate Program via the company’s inaugural Turkey Creek Solar Bright Future Scholarship. The scholarships were awarded to two deserving students, Tyler Chick and Isaac Preciado.

The Solar Photovoltaic Installation Certificate Program provides the student with knowledge and essential skills to successfully and safely install photovoltaic solar panels. Program competencies are aligned with the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). Students will then prepare for the certification exam by reviewing concepts and applying the technical skills in an internship setting.

“We are excited to support Pueblo Community College and promote green energy careers and the solar industry in Pueblo County through our Turkey Creek Solar Bright Future Scholarship,” said 174 Power Global CEO Henry Yun, PhD. “174 Power Global always looks for ways to support the communities where we operate, and we look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in Pueblo County.”

“Pueblo Community College continues to be so grateful to those business and industry partners who support our role and mission,” said PCC President Dr. Patty Erjavec. “174 Power Global is no exception, and the generous scholarships they are providing are sure to yield two highly skilled solar energy technicians. The workforce possibilities in clean energy are growing and we are proud to acknowledge the financial support from 174 Power Global.”

174 Power Global is developing the 1,200- to 1,400-acre Turkey Creek Solar Project in Pueblo County. The new, utility-scale solar facility is expected to generate enough electricity to power an estimated 46,000 Southern Colorado homes with clean, renewable energy when operational in 2023.
