           BANCOLOMBIA REPORTS UNCONSOLIDATED NET INCOME OF PS 217,685
                  MILLION DURING THE FIRST SEVEN MONTHS OF 2004

MEDELLIN, COLOMBIA. AUGUST 12, 2004*

BANCOLOMBIA reported unconsolidated net income of Ps 29,779 million for the
month ended July 31, 2004. For the seven months ended July 31, 2004 the Bank
reported accumulated net income of Ps 217,685 million, 28.8% higher than for the
same period in 2003.

Total net interest income, including investment securities, amounted to Ps
72,650 million in July 2004 and Ps 497,923 million for the seven-month period
ended July 31, 2004. Additionally, total net fees and income from services
amounted to Ps 27,532 million in July 2004 and Ps 180,937 million for the
seven-month period ended July 31, 2004.

Total assets amounted to Ps 12.2 trillion in July 2004, 21.7% higher than the
reported in July 2003. Total deposits increased approximately 14.7% to Ps 7.1
trillion over the last twelve months. BANCOLOMBIA's total shareholders' equity
amounted to Ps 1.64 trillion in July 2004, which constitutes an 8.3% increase
over the Ps 1.51 trillion reported in July 2003.

BANCOLOMBIA's (unconsolidated) level of past due loans as a percentage of total
loans was 1.7% as of July 31, 2004, and the level of allowance for past due
loans was 265%.

MARKET SHARE

According to ASOBANCARIA (Colombia's national banking association),
BANCOLOMBIA's market share of the Colombian Financial System in July 2004 was as
follows: 12.4% of total deposits, 13.0% of total net loans, 10.9% of total
savings accounts, 17.6% of total checking accounts and 10.6% of total time
deposits.
