Item 9. Regulation FD Disclosure
On July 10, 2003, Mid-America Apartment Communities, Inc. issued a press release announcing the redemption of all issued and outstanding shares of 9.5% Series A Cumulative Preferred Stock, 1,600,000 shares of 8 7/8% Series B Cumulative Preferred Stock and all issued and outstanding shares of 9 3/8% Series C Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock. A copy of the press release is filed as an exhibit to this report and is incorporated by reference herein.
