Intershop Management Board Member Werner Fuhrmann Resigns

Jena, Germany, July 16, 2003 –Intershop Communications AG (Prime Standard: ISH1; Nasdaq: ISHP) today announced that, for personal reasons, Werner Fuhrmann has asked the Supervisory Board to be immediately released of his duties as a Member of the Management Board and as President Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). The Company’s Supervisory Board regrets, but accepts Mr. Fuhrmann’s decision.

Since joining Intershop in July 2002, Mr. Fuhrmann served as a Member of the Management Board and President EMEA, in which role he was responsible for sales in the region of Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

For the time being, Mr. Fuhrmann’s position will not be filled. Intershop’s sales management will report directly to Dr. Juergen Schoettler, Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Fuhrmann will advise Intershop on a number of important projects and will thus stay in touch with the Company.
