By: Get News

Savannah, GA, United States - Founded in 2004 by Alvin and Diane Jackson, Savannah's Young Men of Honor, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of young black males through education, mentorship, and community engagement. The organization was inspired by the founders' desire to address the alarming rates of death and violence faced by young black men in their community.

Offering a safe and enriching environment, Young Men of Honor focuses on educational attainment, positive leadership development, and hands-on activities, including in and out-of-town field trips. Their goal is to expose participants to new experiences and communities, and to instill a sense of purpose and responsibility in their lives.

"We are deeply committed to helping young men in our community build strong character and develop a mindset of success," said Diane Jackson, co-founder of Young Men of Honor, Inc. "Our programs and services are unique because we not only provide a reliable support system, but we also give back to the community, nurturing young leaders who will make a lasting impact."

As part of their future plans, Young Men of Honor aims to reduce the poverty rate among program participants, secure additional financial backing, and implement STEM/STEAM curriculum to better prepare young men for careers in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

The organization sets itself apart from competitors by prioritizing reliability, community engagement, and character-building, all while maintaining a passionate and human approach to their work.
