Huaidi Gao Compares The Chinese Culture With The American Culture

Have you ever been told that the Chinese culture is rich and has the best morals? With people working hard towards their goals and leading the country to success, there are holes that make their society fall through. No culture is perfect, and just as so, neither is the Chinese culture. There are things that deeply embed themselves in the community, which make it shaky.

The Chinese Dynasty has always been deemed a successful one. However, the same regime can not continue. People can not be pushed around by rulers who remain unaware of the situation their people go through. In today’s China, an authoritarian rule still exists, and people are still stuck in line to get to a better social status. Not only does the book talk about how culture affects the social hierarchy, but it also mentions the mobile hierarchy.

Mobile hierarchy is a stubborn social ladder that does not move even if further generations make a better living for themselves. People are given a specific ancestral social status, and it does not change no matter what.

Given the social system, the freest democratic system is the one that exists in America. There are flaws in here, too but on very small scale proportions. The American culture supports democratic leadership. The country does not put its people in a position where they are obliged to sit stagnant in one place. The social system has free mobility and does not stop anyone from moving up or down the social ladder.

With these clear indications, the book discusses how opposite China is compared to America. Some things are totally different and allow citizens to choose for themselves. The book’s final pages give a clear indication of how everything is moving forward, how the dictatorship might finally be ending and how the people of the country can play a part in asking for what they deserve; individual freedom.

Comparison of Real Chinese Culture and American Culture by Huaide Gao is available on Amazon in Paperback format for purchase.
