January is National Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month

Denver, Colorado Jan 7, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - It's Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month and FLAME Natural Decon is providing a way for you to help firefighters reduce their risk of developing cancer.

Firefighters are 9% more likely to be diagnosed with cancer and 14% more likely to die of cancer than the general population.

This is due to their exposure to carcinogens (cancer-causing toxins) they come into contact with while fighting a structure fire. When burned, particles from household items and building construction materials that contain carcinogens end up on firefighters' skin and in their lungs, increasing their risk of developing cancer.

One of the ways they are able to mitigate their risk of developing cancer is by showering as soon as possible after fighting a fire.

FLAME Natural Decon provides firefighters with personal decontamination products, Soap and Shampoo + Body Wash, specifically developed to remove carcinogens from their skin and hair after a fire call.

During Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month FLAME is offering packages where you can gift these specialized products to firefighters.

If you would like to learn more and help firefighters in your area reduce their risk of developing cancer visit flamedecon.com/community.
