Northwest Hills Chevrolet Buick GMC is delighted to announce that following a 12-year hiatus, the legendary Hummer nameplate is back next year with the Hummer EV

Bristol Connecticut area GMC Dealership is proud to announce that GM brought back into production one of the biggest names in the car industry, the Hummer. An all-electric version dubbed the Hummer EV will be released for the 2022 model year

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Torrington, CT, November 16, 2020: Northwest Hills, a GMC dealer near Bristol, Connecticut, welcomes back the legendary Hummer nameplate in a completely reimagined as an all-electric vehicle.

The Hummer EV comes with a 200-kWh battery that promises a range of up to 350 miles on one charge. GM has also announced that with the DC fast charging, the batteries of the new Hummer EV will store enough power for 100 miles of autonomy after a swift 10-minute charge.

The Hummer EV will come in two body styles – a pickup truck with a removable roof and a classic SUV shape. Its engine will deliver somewhere around 1,000 horsepower and in excess of 1,000 pound-feet of torque. That’s enough to propel this giant from 0 to 60 miles per hour in three seconds.

Edition 1 Hummer EVs, set for delivery in late 2021, have sold out. They come with perks such as:

  • A power glass roof
  • A multi-functional tailgate
  • Specially engineered 35-inch OD tires
  • A digital key system
  • Four-wheel steering with a diagonal-steer “crab” mode
  • Adaptive air suspension
  • Ultravision with underbody cameras

With the shift towards fully electric, the Hummer still retains its roughed, off-road spirit. GM introducing the Hummer EV as “OFF-ROAD DOMINANCE – To take on the toughest off-pavement obstacles, off-road dominance is engineered into every element of HUMMER EV.”

Sean Sullivan, President and General Manager of the Connecticut GMC dealer: “The Hummer nameplate is legendary, and it was dearly missed by off-road enthusiasts for over a decade. With its reinvention, the Hummer paves the way for all-electric full-sized SUVs and trucks. It redefines the standard of what an off-road car should and could be, just as it did decades ago when it crossed from military to civilian service. We’re proud to bring it to prospective buyers in Connecticut as soon as it will hit the market.”
