Small Business Websites in Perth Are Attacked 44 Times A Day!

By: Issuewire

Perth, Nov 14, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - A recent report show that the average small business website, especially those based on Wordpress is being attacked up to 44 times a day.

Unfortunately many small to medium-sized business owners in Western Australia think that their business website is safe because they are not involved with military contracts, or there is no important information stored on their website are more likely to be attacked than the bigger sites.

Many Perth based small business websites are poorly secured and are just waiting to be hacked.

Internationally recognised web security company Sitelock recently published a report stating that small business websites around the world are being attacked by armies of bots with attacks happening up to 152 million times a week!

According to the founder of Perth based WebsiteRepairer Bruce Hearder, says that many small to medium-sized businesses think they have almost no chance of being hacked because their website contains no sensitive information as they are a plumber or sell Christmas decorations, or work in some other perceived low-risk industry.

Mr Hearder says this type of thinking is completely wrong and they could be more of a target because they have a lot less security enabled making them easy targets. One of the reasons that attackers target business websites, is to use the website at a later date to attack a big target like a government or military website.

When the attack on that website is tracked back, it ends at your website, completely covering up the attackers' true origins.

Mr Hearder says the best way small business owners can keep up their website defences int to keep their website code up to date, especially by making sure they are running the latest version of Wordpress and all of their installed plugins are secure, up to date and having tools in place to monitor any unusual activity happening on their website.

If your website has been hacked, or you wish to bring your website up to date and do an audit of the code running on your site, then contact WebsiteRepairers today.
