This article provides the necessary information for you to know how to quickly clean your TV without damaging the screen, or wearing down the buttons on the remote control.

How to Clean Your TV Screen with Microfibre Cloths

Before starting the cleaning process, turn off your TV at the mains and unplug the power cable. It’s important to be gentle on your TV’s screen. The screen can be sensitive, and the last thing you want to do is cause irrepairable damage.

Initially, simply wipe your TV gently with a microfibre cloth. This will remove any dust from the surface with ease, and what’s more, microfibre can also remove bacteria and pathogens without any cleaning chemicals! This shoud leave your TV screen clean.

If your TV still has stubborn dirt remaining, fill a trigger spray bottle with water and lightly mist the surface of your cloth. Wipe the screen and gently dislodge any soiling. If there are some stubborn stains remaining, mist your microfibre cloth with TV Screen Cleaner instead of water and gently wipe. Always wipe the screen multiple times to gradually dislodge dirt, instead of wiping once when pushing hard on the screen as this may damage your device.

Never spray liquid directly onto a TV as this may cause irreparable damage if the liquid enters the device and may cause a fire or electric shock.

Cleaning the Rest of the TV

The frames of your TV, the base and the rear of the TV are all areas that collect dust and dirt.

The back of the TV collects a lot of dust, so we recommend removing this before wiping. Set your vacuum to the lowest setting (TV’s are sensitive) and use the attachment with a brush. Vacuum any surface dust from the rear of the TV – you are likely to remove a lot of dust during this stage! For any small crevices or hard to reach areas use a toothbrush for dust removal.

Thereafter, the frame and base of the TV can be cleaned as per the screen. Wipe over with a dampened microfibre cloth and buff using a circular motion. If dirt persists repeat and for the most stubborn soiling, mist the cloth with TV screen cleaner and wipe repetitively to remove dirt.

Dry Your Television

Use a microfibre cloth to remove any remaining moisture on the screen or frame of the device.

How Often Should I Clean My TV?

The more regularly you clean your TV, the easier it will be and the likelihood of finding stubborn dirt will be lower. Also, if you regularly clean your TV the better the viewing experience will be! Who wants to watch their favourite show with the TV covered in a layer of dust?

We recommend cleaning your TV weekly as part of your regular living room cleaning schedule. It’s always best not to leave too much time between cleans, as dust accumulates quickly and the longer you leave it, the more time it will take.

Cleaning your TV screen is a necessary part of maintaining it properly. Fit this in with your regular cleaning schedule and it’ll take next to no time, whilst also giving you the best TV viewing experience!
