Embark on a Thrilling Chase Through History with Autistic Author Jude Morrow's upcoming novel 'Dan Cooper'

Jude Morrow, the critically acclaimed autistic author, announces his latest work 'Dan Cooper', set to hit the shelves on October 30, 2023.

Jude Morrow, the critically acclaimed autistic author, announces his latest work 'Dan Cooper', set to hit the shelves on October 30, 2023. This gripping novel dives deep into one of aviation's greatest mysteries: the hijacking of Northwest Orient Flight 305 on November 24, 1971, at the hands of ‘Dan Cooper’, commonly known as ‘DB Cooper’.

The Tale Unfolds:
On a chilling Pacific Northwest evening, a man named 'Dan Cooper' steps onto Northwest Orient Flight 305 from Portland to Seattle. With a bomb-laden briefcase and a determination to disappear, he extorted $200,000 and four parachutes that were delivered to him on the runway of SeaTac International Airport. After releasing the passengers and demanding the aircraft to take off again, Cooper jumped into the abyss from the aft staircase of a Boeing 727 between Seattle and Reno. Yet beneath the layers of this audacious act, 'Dan' hides secrets of a Canadian past, wartime exploits, and a life that challenges perceptions. As the world searches for him, FBI agent Clifford Harding wrestles with his obsession, questioning his pursuit's motive.

Jude Morrow's Craft:
A native of Derry, Northern Ireland, best known for his deep dives into challenging narratives, Jude's flair for authentic storytelling has earned him accolades, with his previous work, 'The Ghosts of Riots Past', garnering global acclaim. Jude also wrote about his experiences growing up as an autistic child and autistic adult in his first two works ‘Why Does Daddy Always Look So Sad?’ which won the Living Now Book Awards Gold Medal, and ‘Loving Your Place on The Spectrum: A Neurodiversity Blueprint’ both of which were published by Beyond Words, publisher of ‘The Secret’. Jude has given two TEDx Talks, become highly sought after on the conference and after-dinner speaking circuits, and was featured in Forbes in February 2023.

Beyond books, Jude has shone as the founder of Neurodiversity Training International and the visionary behind the EndeeSphere app. Not one to shy from immersion, Jude underwent skydiving training to bring unparalleled authenticity to Cooper's daunting descent. The dual narrative, telling Cooper's version interwoven with the FBI's relentless chase, promises readers a roller-coaster of emotions and insights.

Jude said: "I was immediately captivated by the story of DB Cooper and wanted to get inside the man's head; why did he do this? What happened to him? and how did he do it? I read through the FBI paperwork and witness statements and used everything everyone said about Cooper to craft a believable character. Some say that taking up skydiving to write a book is extreme, but then again, James Cameron had a nearly full-size replica of Titanic built for his 1997 film!"

Why This Book?
With recent global intrigue around DB Cooper, especially given the success of the Netflix series "DB Cooper Where are You?", Morrow's novel couldn't be more timely. Jude reveals, "The story of DB Cooper fascinated me. Delving into the psyche of such a man and crafting a believable character of Cooper, why he did what he did, and where he went afterwards using real case evidence and testimonies from those who saw and interacted with him."

CooperCon Appearance:
Readers and DB Cooper enthusiasts can catch Jude Morrow at the CooperCon festival at Boeing Field, Seattle, from November 17th 2023, as he delves deep into discussions around his novel and the historical problem it's based on. Cooper sleuth Eric Ulis and fellow sleuths and historians from the DB Cooper Mystery Group on Facebook organise the CooperCon festival.

Early Reviews:
Early birds have hailed the novel's unique voice, emphasising the nuanced portrayal of the passengers and crew's trauma. Coupled with a believable first-person confession from Cooper and a heart-stopping finale, 'Dan Cooper' will bring the story of 'DB Cooper' a new wave of interest. Jude's decision to publish independently ensures raw, untamed narratives, allowing characters to shine uninfluenced by mainstream pressures.

Availability:
'Dan Cooper' will be available on Amazon starting October 30th in paperback and e-book formats, with broader availability across major online bookstores in subsequent weeks.
