Best known for her high-profile support vocals for legends like Stevie Wonder, Vanessa Williams, and the late Teena Marie, Brewer is now captivating audiences with her music.
“Tasting Sunshine” is a masterful blend of jazzy vocal licks and a bluesy backbeat, featuring Brewer’s whispery alto voice in a duet with Mark Kibble, a founding member of the Grammy-winning sextet Take 6. Adding to the track’s allure are the soulful alto saxophone strains of Gerald Albright. Both Kibble and Albright are longtime friends of Brewer from her early years in the music industry.
Brewer shares the inspiration behind her song, stating, “I wrote this song a long time ago. Any particular person didn’t inspire it. The idea of tasting sunshine just came to me, making me think about the euphoria of a kiss and finding your soulmate. In a way, it’s about my imaginary husband.”

This new, slower rhythm version marks Brewer’s third single, following her cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Don’t Make Me Wait Too Long” and the title track of her forthcoming album, “Just That Sweet To Me.”
