Sean Kirtz, a single father and wrestling coach is inspiring the next generation

[Boca Raton, Florida] – [16th November-24] Sean Kirtz, a former national wrestling champion turned dedicated coach and single father, is making a lasting impact on his community through his passion for youth development and commitment to faith.

Raised in Youngstown, Ohio, Sean began wrestling at the age of 10, using the sport to forge a strong bond with his father. By middle school, he had achieved national champion status, but a knee injury halted his competitive career before college. Rather than stepping away from the sport, Sean channeled his passion into coaching, a role he has embraced for over 20 years.

As head coach, Sean took a struggling high school wrestling team and turned them into state contenders. Under his guidance, athletes not only developed their skills on the mat but also learned the importance of discipline, teamwork, and personal growth.

“I see coaching as more than just teaching wrestling,” Sean said. “It’s a way to serve God and help young people build character and confidence.”

Sean’s commitment to service extends beyond the wrestling mat. A single parent, he has dedicated himself to homeschooling his child, who recently excelled in grade-level evaluations. Their shared faith is a cornerstone of their relationship, as they attend church together every Sunday when possible. Sean also prioritizes personal spiritual growth, dedicating time each week to yoga and meditation.

With his child entering high school, Sean looks forward to contributing to the wrestling team as a coach, bringing his 30 years of experience to support not only his child but also the team.

Community Praise for Sean Kirtz

Sean’s contributions have not gone unnoticed. A former Broward County Prosecutor, who has known Sean for years, described him as “one of the most decent men I’ve encountered.”

“He’s raised his two sons with incredible patience and care,” the prosecutor added. “Sean’s father wasn’t there for him growing up, so he’s gone above and beyond to be present for his children. His commitment to coaching and his calm, approachable style make him a favorite among kids and parents alike.”

Sean’s efforts earned him the Coach of the Year award in Palm Beach County, a recognition of his tireless dedication to mentoring young athletes, including underprivileged youth.

A Lifelong Mission

For Sean, coaching is more than a job—it’s a calling. Volunteering his time without compensation, he remains focused on the bigger picture: helping young people succeed, both on and off the mat.

“Wrestling taught me so much about life,” Sean said. “Now I get to pass that on to the next generation, and that’s a blessing I don’t take for granted.”
