"Swiped" a True Crime Autobiography by Garrie Henwood, Explores Boundaries of Morality and Empathy
Ex-Professional criminal writes of his dangerous, tumultuous life of fraud, redemption, and ruin

CHELMSFORD, UK - March 29, 2024 - Author, entrepreneur, and former career criminal Garrie Henwood today announced the release of his new book, “Swiped.” The true crime thriller introduces the reader to a world of fraud and deception from the criminal himself.

“Swiped is a gripping tale of audacity, vanity, danger, questionable choices, and resulting consequences,” said Henwood. “I bring readers into my old world of puzzles and deceit - a labyrinthine universe of credit card fraud. Deceit becomes an art form because every ‘Swipe’ carries the weight of both ambition and peril.”

Henwood’s life story brings the reader into his mindset, first as a young man committing his first crime, then as part of a criminal gang targeting banks by swiping fake credit cards. Henwood explains, "Swiped is not just a chronicle of criminal exploits; the book brings the reader into the psyche of a young man whose choices shape his destiny. The narrative threads its way through the alleys of credit card fraud, painting a vivid picture of the risks, rewards and the elusive line between right and wrong.”

Henwood has led an unusual life. He was born in Poole, Dorset and his life took a trajectory that, according to Henwood, “defies convention.” The author’s journey and his decision to lead a nefarious and manipulative life is compelling. He explores how the less traveled bad roads sets in motion, “a series of events that unravel the fabric of an idyllic life,” said Henwood.
