Blue Buffalo, the country’s most loved and trusted natural pet food brand, announced today it has pledged $500,000 to community organizations in the Los Angeles area in support of pet families impacted by the wildfires. Funds will be used to ensure pet families have access to critically needed pet food, supplies and resources.
“Loving pets as family and helping pet families thrive is central to everything we do at Blue Buffalo,” said Liz Mascolo, President, North America Blue Buffalo. “BLUE’s partners in the Los Angeles area are working tirelessly to help pet parents impacted by the devastating wildfires. We stand ready to support their critical work with the food, supplies and funds to help keep pets healthy and pet families together as they recover and rebuild.”
Blue Buffalo’s donation will help support key partners serving the greater Los Angeles area:
- American Red Cross—Blue Buffalo, along with parent company General Mills, will contribute $100,000 in monetary support to the American Red Cross to aid in California wildfire relief efforts and help pet families stay together. Additionally, Blue Buffalo has committed to provide up to $100,000 in BLUE food and treats.
- Best Friends Animal Society—Blue Buffalo will donate $150,000 in BLUE food and treats to Best Friends Animal Society, a leading national animal welfare organization working to save the lives of dogs and cats in America's shelters. The donation will be used to support the Best Friends-operated pet pantry located at the Best Friends Pet Adoption Center at 1845 Pontius Avenue in Los Angeles, which is designed to provide essential supplies to pets and pet parents impacted by the wildfires.
- Helen Woodward Animal Center—Blue Buffalo will provide $150,000 in BLUE food and treats to support pet parent relief efforts underway at the Helen Woodward Animal Center, a nonprofit located in Rancho Santa Fe, California, serving more than 90,000 people and more than 10,000 animals annually through adoptions, education and therapeutic programs.

About Blue Buffalo
Blue Buffalo, the country’s most loved and trusted natural pet food, started with a promise made to a lovable Airedale named Blue who struggled with cancer, the #1 disease-related killer of dogs and cats. His family, the Bishops, wanted to feed him the best food possible, so they searched for food with high-quality ingredients, but decided to create something even better – natural pet food for dogs and cats with nutritious ingredients, real meat first, and some of the highest standards in the industry. Since Day 1, BLUE’s team of veterinarians and animal nutritionists have carefully selected high-quality, natural ingredients and upheld its True BLUE Promise to dog and cat pet parents – real meat as the first ingredient with NO chicken (or poultry) by-product meals, NO corn, wheat or soy, and NO artificial flavors or preservatives. The result is a portfolio of high-quality, natural food and treats that both dogs and cats love. This simple idea: “Love them like family. Feed them like family.” lives on today in every Blue Buffalo recipe. Visit BlueBuffalo.com to learn more.
