Donaldson Foundation Announces Recipient of $100K Challenge Grant

Special Challenge Grant Focuses on Supporting Education Initiatives Close to Communities Connected with Donaldson Employees

Donaldson Company, Inc. (NYSE:DCI), a leading worldwide manufacturer of innovative filtration products and solutions, is pleased to announce that DonorsChoose, an education equity organization, is this year’s recipient of the Donaldson Foundation $100K Challenge grant. The $100K Challenge is a grant program based on a selected theme defined by the Foundation Board of Directors. This year’s theme was childhood education.

“The $100K Challenge allows us to engage a wide group of employees in our philanthropic decisions to ensure our donations accurately reflect our values and culture,” said Sarah Swenson, President of the Donaldson Foundation. “The Foundation is a critical piece of how we give back and strengthen our communities through education.”

The $100K Challenge gives Donaldson’s U.S.-based employees a voice on a transformational funding opportunity for a well-deserved nonprofit by a voting process where employees select an organization that they believe best represents the spirit of the challenge topic. DonorsChoose was one of three grant finalists along with Little Free Library and United Through Reading. The two other participating nonprofits will receive $10,000 each to support their mission work.

“DonorsChoose is so honored to be the recipient of the $100k Challenge grant, which our organization will use to fund classroom needs for public school teachers across the country,” said America Morales, Corporate and Foundation Giving Manager at DonorsChoose. “Through this campaign, the Donaldson Foundation is empowering hundreds of educators across the country to get the resources that will enrich their students’ education.”

The mission of DonorsChoose is to make it easy for anyone to help a teacher in need, giving students the tools and experiences they need for a great education. To ensure integrity, the nonprofit vets all requests, purchases each item, and ships materials directly to verified teachers at their schools. Today, teachers at 88% of public schools in America have posted a project on DonorsChoose since the organization’s founding in 2000. The $100,000 grant from the Donaldson Foundation will be used to match donations made by the public to for DonorsChoose projects in communities where Donaldson operates in the United States, doubling our impact.

The mission of the Donaldson Foundation is to positively impact our communities by supporting and investing in education. Founded in 1966, it is Donaldson’s main philanthropic vehicle and seeks to fulfill its mission by supporting education initiatives for those with little or no access to essential learning resources and opportunities, as well as aiding in other community initiatives most important to where our employees live and work. In fiscal year 2023, the Donaldson Foundation distributed $1.2 million to nonprofit organizations. Learn more about the Donaldson Foundation at www.donaldson.com/foundation.
