The Disability Equality Index® is the world’s most comprehensive benchmarking tool for Fortune 1000 scope companies to measure disability workplace inclusion inside their organization and to assess performance across industry sectors. The 2024 Disability Equality Index measured: culture & leadership; enterprise-wide access; employment practices (benefits; recruitment; employment, education, retention & advancement; accommodations); community engagement; supplier diversity; and responsible procurement.

Aramark has demonstrated a continuous dedication to accessibility and supportive work environments, ensuring that employees with disabilities are provided with the necessary tools and resources to thrive. This is the eighth consecutive year Aramark has received a top score of 100 on the Disability Equality Index, which reflects the company's commitment to creating an inclusive culture and empowering all employees to perform to their fullest potential.

“We are honored to receive this recognition from Disability:IN,” said Aramark’s Vice President of DEI, Fenimore Fisher. “As a leading global hospitality partner, we are committed to supporting underserved communities. We are aligned with Disability:IN, collaborating with purpose to promote the full inclusion of people with disabilities, inspiring accessible innovation for all, and advancing a culture of inclusion.”

Thousands of Aramark’s employees are members of the company’s eleven employee resource groups (ERGs) and bring Aramark’s mission of doing great things for people, partners, and communities, to life every day. Aramark Thrive, which is dedicated to the interest of employees who self-identify as having a disability and for caretakers and advocates of those with disabilities, is active year-round, supporting employees and the communities Aramark serves.

Earlier this year, in support of the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania’s Business Plunge, Aramark Community Relations and Thrive ERG volunteers took the icy dip into a pool set up on the field at Citizens Bank Park, in Philadelphia, to raise essential funds for year-round sports training and competition for people with intellectual disabilities. Thrive ERG members work diligently to foster an inclusive environment and are active participants in Aramark’s recruitment events, like this recent hiring event for individuals with autism, and host dozens of students annually, at Aramark headquarters, during Disability Employment Awareness Month.

"On the 10th anniversary of the Disability Equality Index, we’re extremely proud of the 542 national and international companies that are taking a proactive role in leading progress towards disability inclusion, setting a benchmark for others to follow. Their dedication to fostering inclusive workplaces not only attracts top talent but also drives innovation and creates sustainable performance in today's global market. Together, we are creating a future where everyone can contribute and thrive,” said Jill Houghton, President and CEO of Disability:IN.
