Bitrise Ranks in The Top 150 of Private Y Combinator-Backed Companies, 20% of Companies on List Powered by Bitrise

The Mobile DevOps Company Was Named One of Y Combinator’s Top Private Companies for the Second Year in a Row

Bitrise, the Mobile DevOps company whose platform maximizes the overall business impact of apps for the world’s most sophisticated mobile organizations, has been named one of Y Combinator’s Top Private Companies for the second year in a row. Y Combinator backs approximately 3,000 private companies. Among those valued at more than $150 million, Bitrise ranks #136, joining the ranks of companies like Stripe, Instacart and other market leaders.

This year’s Top Companies list includes companies from 40 countries, most valued at more than $150 million, with more than 90 valued at more than $1 billion. Nearly 20% of the companies that appear on the Top Private YC List are also Bitrise users. More than 6,000 companies and 100,000 developers around the globe rely on Bitrise to manage their mobile development operations.

Bitrise is now eight years into building a mobile ecosystem that closes the chasm between the world’s growing demand for mobile products and the ability of organizations to deliver on that demand today. The company’s growing Mobile DevOps platform automates the most labor-intensive steps and processes within the mobile development lifecycle. The result is faster release cycles and enhanced performance in app stores where they compete for users, downloads and market share.

Once a complement to companies’ core business models, mobile is now responsible for a disproportionate amount of many companies’ overall revenue. For these organizations, challenges that slow down mobile operations, such as the manual maintenance of machines and processes, can cost hundreds of thousands–to millions– of dollars, considering they decrease the rate of innovation and the ability to compete.

Bitrise’s inclusion in the Top Private YC Companies list is a reflection of the growing urgency among mobile leaders, such as Affirm, Rakuten, Grindr, Compass, and Philips Hue, to increase time to market, as well as allocate more resources to innovation than software maintenance.

“Our goal since the beginning has been to provide companies – from visionary SMBs to established enterprises – with the mobile solutions necessary to focus on scaling their apps and driving business revenue,” said Barnabas Birmacher, CEO of Bitrise. “Being listed as a Top Private Y Combinator company is a nod to our progress carrying out this vision.”

Bitrise’s inclusion on this list is one of many recent milestones for the company. In October 2022, the company acquired Flare.Build. Before that, it released the industry’s first scalable M1 environment.

Y Combinator is the largest startup accelerator in the world, investing in a number of startups every year and attracting investor interest for them from leading venture capital firms.
