Medical Informatics Corp. The collaboration between MIC and Wilhelm arises from a shared vision of addressing critical challenges facing the healthcare industry today, including staffing and bed shortages, and the overarching need to establish a foundation for connected care.

“Critical to moving healthcare forward is the ability to provide the right level of care to the right patient at the right time, most effectively leveraging the staff and resources hospitals have available now,” noted Emma Fauss, CEO and co-founder of MIC. “In addition to providing access to more expert eyes for patients needing care, the unlocking, storing and harnessing of patient data allows for improved individualized care while making strides in the advancement of care for all through AI and machine learning.”

In addition to the shared challenges related to patient data being thrown away or unavailable due to lack of storage and interoperability, Australia and New Zealand also face a unique challenge of availability and standardization of electronic medical record technology. MIC will provide Wilhelm with the foundational singular, interconnected architecture needed to help hospitals and healthcare systems in the region solve these challenges.

Wilhelm focuses on raising the bar on health standards in a world where this goal has become more challenging than ever before. Technology enables Wilhelm to lead the way in modular design and construction, infection control, safety and digital health, through locally engineered solutions, harnessing the latest in innovation locally and from overseas with trusted companies like MIC. The partnership with MIC will enable Wilhelm clients to capture real-time patient waveform data and create new and novel remote monitoring and virtual care workflows as well as a full longitudinal view of the patient record to expedite root cause analysis, time to intervention, care collaboration, and documentation.

“By leveraging technology to automate workflows and supporting staff on the floors virtually using software, we can have a direct impact on patient care and staff efficiency. The addition of MIC’s Sickbay platform to our digital health portfolio comes at the perfect time, as the demands being placed on our hospitals and healthcare workers continues to grow,” said Chad Wilhelm, Managing Director, Wilhelm.

"With Sickbay, Wilhelm clients will be able to seamlessly integrate devices so that data is immediately available to empower decision support and workflows for an improved standard of care,'' said Fauss of MIC. “We are thrilled to partner with Wilhelm to expand our international footprint and help advance standards of care worldwide.”
