The net loss for the three and nine months ended April 30, 2001 was $543,000 and
$2,125,000, respectively, compared to $497,000 and $1,216,000, respectively, for
the same periods in 2000. the increased loss results primarily from increased
exploration activities and the availability of capital from the sale of
securities to conduct these exploration activities.
