Item 8.01 Other Events.
On March 27, 2017, Sallie Mae Bank (the "Bank") received confirmation from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (the "FDIC") that effective March 23, 2017, the FDIC terminated the consent order and order for restitution issued on May 13, 2014 against the Bank, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of SLM Corporation. The termination was issued with no conditions.
