ITEM 5.02 DEPARTURE OF DIRECTORS OR PRINCIPAL OFFICERS; ELECTION OF DIRECTORS; APPOINTMENT OF PRINCIPAL OFFICERS
On June 12, 2006, L. Carlton Tyson, a founding member of the board of directors of American Community Bank, the wholly owned subsidiary of American Community Bancshares, Inc. (the Registrant) announced his retirement from the boards of the Registrant and American Community Bank. Since the founding of American Community Bank, Mr. Tyson has served the shareholders of the Registrant and the communities in which American Community Bank operates loyally.
